Role Summary
The Marketing Manager role is a full-time, permanently remote position based in Germany that reports directly to the Global Director of Marketing. This position is responsible for executing Portwest's marketing strategy and plans specifically for the German market. The role involves gaining deep insights into the competitive landscape, including the main competitors and the most effective channels to build brand awareness and increase sales among new and existing customers. The Marketing Manager will implement integrated and impactful campaigns using various marketing channels and strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute Portwest’s marketing strategy and plans in the German market by developing and launching integrated, successful campaigns.
- Develop comprehensive knowledge of market competition, including key competitors and the best channels to enhance brand recognition and drive revenue growth.
- Manage paid media campaigns across Paid Social, Paid Search, and programmatic platforms; oversee budget allocation and monitor ROI/ROAS to boost brand awareness, lead generation, and sales in Germany.
- Design and implement email marketing campaigns to nurture and convert potential and existing customers.
- Lead social media marketing initiatives to enhance brand visibility and customer engagement.
- Plan and oversee sponsorship activities to maximize brand exposure and market success.
- Collaborate with sales partners on co-marketing efforts to expand reach and stimulate demand.
- Organize and execute trade show activations and experiential marketing events to showcase the brand and generate qualified leads.
- Support participation in webinars, trainings, and trade fairs, managing follow-up activities to activate and convert contacts.
- Create KPI reports and extract actionable insights to align marketing activities with commercial goals and to continuously optimize efforts, working closely with the local sales team.
- Coordinate with local sales and central marketing teams to align marketing initiatives with sales priorities, revenue targets, and the global branding strategy.
- Work alongside designers, agencies, and external vendors to ensure timely and budget-compliant campaign delivery.
- Guarantee that all marketing campaigns comply with brand guidelines and consistently represent the brand identity.
- Take on additional tasks as needed to support departmental and company objectives.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years experience in marketing, preferably within workwear, protective clothing, PPE, industrial sectors, or similar B2B manufacturing contexts.
- Fluency in both German and English, with strong communication skills in written and spoken forms.
- Proven expertise managing paid media campaigns, including Paid Social, Paid Search (Google Ads), and Programmatic Advertising, with responsibility for budgets and performance improvements.
- Experience across multiple marketing disciplines such as email marketing, social media, sponsorships, and events is advantageous.
- Strong analytical capabilities with experience in KPI reporting and converting data insights into practical recommendations.
- Ability to work collaboratively with sales teams, agencies, and external partners.
- Highly self-motivated with the capacity to operate independently in a fully remote, market-focused role.
- Willingness to travel within Germany for team collaboration and occasionally to the company headquarters in Ireland.
