Role Overview
As a Marketing Manager within the Americas Marketing Development team, you will be pivotal in crafting and executing go-to-market strategies for selected titles across the Americas region. This role requires a generalist marketer skilled in diverse marketing functions including creative development, paid media, social channels, influencer campaigns, localization, partnerships, and retail execution. You will translate global marketing strategies into successful localized campaigns.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate a team including managers and user researchers to execute research projects covering publishing, industry/player insights, and game development, managing the internal research lab.
- Develop strong partnerships with stakeholders to understand business objectives and consumer needs, translating these into actionable research plans employing appropriate methodologies.
- Manage vendor relationships across North America and Europe, oversee project bids, identify new research partners, and collaborate with internal data teams to integrate consumer insights into forecasting processes.
- Plan and conduct all aspects of consumer research and user testing from design, methodology selection, sample targeting, survey programming, to analysis.
- Create insightful reports by synthesizing data, leveraging gaming market expertise, and performing detailed data mining as necessary.
- Promote player-centric decision making throughout game publishing and development cycles by understanding user experiences and establishing benchmarks and standards.
- Assess the impact of marketing strategies through launch and post-launch research, contributing to organizational knowledge and identifying new business prospects.
- Drive innovation in research methodologies and operational efficiency, including establishing global player segmentation frameworks and quick iterative research methods.
- Act as the chief advocate for gamers internally, ensuring the consumer's perspective influences key development milestones and marketing campaign activities.
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a comprehensive videogame marketing role focused on integrated multi-market campaigns within the Americas.
- Familiarity with major gaming platforms such as PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, Steam, and Epic Games Store.
- Experience managing agencies for creative content, media, influencer relations, and localization.
- Ability to brief, review, and guide the creation of marketing creatives including trailers, social media content, and digital ads.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities efficiently.
- Proficiency with marketing analytics tools.
- Competency in budget management including planning, scoping, purchase orders, and invoice tracking.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and intercultural awareness, with creative problem-solving capabilities.
- Good understanding of social media trends and influencer program management.
- Passion for Square Enix intellectual properties and deep knowledge of the gaming and entertainment sectors.

- Experience with JIRA software.
- Proficiency in Japanese language.
- Degree in Marketing or related fields.

Compensation
The position offers an annual salary ranging between $80,000 and $125,000.
