Role overview
This position calls for a commercially minded aviation specialist to steer operator coverage, customer acquisition, and aircraft remarketing activity across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. The focus is on building relationships with cargo operators and airlines, assessing fleet and capacity needs, and driving lease, sale, purchase, and remarketing work for freighter and converted freighter aircraft.
The right person will have strong relationships throughout the cargo airline and operator ecosystem in EMEA, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with commercial, technical, legal, and finance teams to complete well-structured, value-focused transactions.
Responsibilities
- Own commercial coverage for cargo operators and airlines across EMEA, generating new opportunities and strengthening long-term customer ties.
- Develop and sustain direct relationships with operators across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa to uncover fleet needs, replacement plans, growth ambitions, and aircraft placement options.
- Pursue lease placements, lease extensions, transitions, sales, and acquisitions that improve fleet utilization and portfolio performance.
- Support remarketing and placement of freighter and converted freighter aircraft, aligning assets with operator demand throughout the region.
- Track operator strategies, network changes, cargo demand, and wider market trends across EMEA to guide customer targeting and regional priorities.
- Work alongside technical, legal, finance, and leadership stakeholders to structure transactions that satisfy operator requirements while maintaining underwriting standards.
- Prepare concise commercial proposals backed by operator insight, market analysis, and transaction logic for internal review and execution.
- Attend customer meetings, lease negotiations, and industry events across the region to expand access to operator opportunities in EMEA.
Requirements
- Extensive background in cargo aviation, commercial aviation, aircraft leasing, or asset management, with solid knowledge of cargo operator and airline markets in EMEA.
- Proven track record of sourcing, negotiating, and closing lease, sale, acquisition, sale-and-leaseback, or remarketing transactions involving freighter and/or commercial aircraft assets.
- Well-established network of contacts across cargo operators and airlines in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
- Strong business judgment with the ability to weigh growth opportunities against credit, asset, technical, and execution risks.
- Comfortable working across multiple cultures, legal environments, and time zones, with strong coordination and relationship-building ability.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to deliver clear commercial recommendations to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Prepared to travel across the EMEA region as needed.
- Minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience in cargo aviation, aviation finance, and aircraft leasing.
- Direct experience working with operators and airlines across EMEA, with a strong grasp of regional customer behavior, commercial practices, and transaction complexity.
- Bachelor’s degree is required; additional qualifications in business, finance, or aviation are an advantage.
Why this role stands out
- Opportunity to shape a commercial presence in one of the most dynamic aviation regions globally.
- Exposure to aircraft marketing, customer development, and portfolio initiatives, including complex cross-border transactions and senior-level engagement.
- Chance to help build a disciplined, growth-oriented cargo aircraft leasing platform with strong strategic ambitions and international reach.
