About Care For the Homeless
Care For the Homeless is a committed non-profit organization delivering healthcare and social support services for individuals experiencing homelessness across all five boroughs of New York City. Services encompass primary healthcare, behavioral health, shelter management, advocacy on health policies, and promotion of affordable housing opportunities.
Role Overview
The Marketing & Communications Manager plays a key role in shaping and executing the organization's marketing and communication strategies to boost visibility of its mission, programs, fundraising, events, and community influence. Reporting to the Chief Development & Communications Officer, this position spearheads creation and coordination of digital and printed materials, website content, email campaigns, publications, and promotional initiatives ensuring consistent messaging across channels.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate on marketing and communications plans aligned with organizational goals.
- Develop, edit, and coordinate print and digital marketing assets alongside communication teams.
- Support integrated promotion of fundraising efforts, volunteer engagement, advocacy, partnerships, and programs.
- Maintain cohesive brand identity, including messaging, tone, visuals, and organizational voice across communications.
- Organize and manage brand assets, style guides, and templates for internal and external use.
- Create and proofread diverse content such as newsletters, reports, brochures, presentations, donor correspondence, event materials, and promotional content.
- Keep website content accurate, updated, and reflective of organizational priorities.
- Collect impactful stories, testimonials, photography, and videos highlighting the organization's work.
- Coordinate video content production including scripting, interview planning, and vendor collaboration to support storytelling and campaigns.
- Manage website updates and email marketing campaigns ensuring quality and timeliness.
- Oversee print production processes and liaise with external vendors like photographers, graphic designers, and printers.
- Assist in communications around fundraising campaigns, special events, volunteer drives, and outreach.
- Prepare promotional materials and manage post-event communications and reporting.
- Design and develop branded merchandise and other promotional items.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related area.
- At least five years of experience in marketing, communications, or public relations, ideally within nonprofit or healthcare sectors.
- Exceptional writing, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency in producing both digital and print communications.
- Knowledge of content management systems and email marketing tools.
- Experience with video production and content creation.
- Strong organizational capability to handle multiple projects and deadlines efficiently.
