Role Overview

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to enhance and scale processes involved in advanced dental material production. This position requires hands-on engagement with diverse manufacturing machinery, fostering an understanding of operational procedures and identifying areas for process enhancements. Collaboration with manufacturing, R&D, quality, and engineering teams is crucial to address production challenges, implement improvements, and support the introduction of new products that boost safety, quality, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with the Materials Manufacturing team to gain proficiency in equipment and procedures across various manufacturing segments including BruxZir Colloidal, BruxZir Pressed, BruxZir Now, Composites, Resin, Obsidian, and Injection Molding.
  • Deliver engineering support by comprehensively understanding the processes, products, and customer requirements.
  • Utilize hands-on skills and review manufacturing machine programming to troubleshoot and resolve defects or operational issues occurring during manufacturing.
  • Evaluate process modifications within the frameworks of FDA design control and ISO 13485 change control standards.
  • Employ lean manufacturing principles and assess manufacturing workflows to assist in the definition, upkeep, and continual enhancement of steps that produce customer products.
  • Support the deployment of new and existing manufacturing procedures aimed at improving safety, product quality, and cost-efficiency.
  • Work collaboratively to analyze manufacturing process data; provide well-informed recommendations for optimizations based on data insights.
  • Participate in the preparation of work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and related documentation such as forms and certifications.
  • Assist in the development of work packages that include detailed manufacturing instructions, technical drawings, bills of material (BOMs), references, and inspection criteria essential for production control.
  • Respond to production requests effectively to prevent any manufacturing delays.
  • Plan and analyze workflow, spatial requirements, and equipment configurations to enhance manufacturing productivity.
  • Coordinate extensively with cross-departmental teams including Manufacturing, Engineering, R&D, Document Control, and Regulatory Affairs/Quality Assurance to execute designated projects and tasks.

Required Qualifications

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Materials Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience demonstrating comparable competencies. A Master's degree is an advantage.
  • Prior experience in medical device manufacturing is considered beneficial but not mandatory.

Compensation

The pay rate ranges from $32.16 to $37.00 per hour.
