Role Overview
Join the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS) and leverage your expertise in Goods and Services Tax (GST) to foster a robust culture of tax compliance. You will employ your tax knowledge in compliance, policy development, and taxpayer service functions to enhance systems, reinforce compliance, and improve the taxpayer experience. Be part of the initiative to modernize tax administration and redefine taxpayer engagement.
Primary Responsibilities
- Utilize data analytics to identify taxpayers with high risks and execute compliance audits related to GST regulations.
- Compile audit reports and offer practical recommendations based on findings.
- Provide authoritative interpretations and rulings on tax laws and related policies.
- Evaluate tax rules incorporating international best practices and sector insights.
- Lead process enhancement initiatives and implement innovative solutions to boost compliance and operational efficiency.
- Participate in special projects applying technologies such as Robotic Process Automation (RPA), data analytics, and behavioral insights to improve results.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business.
- Strong proficiency in accounting principles and GST regulations.
- Analytical mindset with logical and systematic problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Self-motivated with the capability to work independently.
Additional Information
Successful candidates will be offered an initial contract term of two years. The position is based onsite in Singapore, within a dynamic and evolving tax administration environment.
