About the Role and Team

As part of the Strategic Finance team, your efforts will help enhance financial reporting, analytics, and planning capabilities that support decision-making across global functions. Your analytical insights will influence timely business decisions, supporting Uber's growth, scalability, profitability, and providing opportunities for thousands of couriers, restaurants, and drivers using the platform daily. Responsibilities
- Lead financial reporting, forecasting, and capital planning for multiple high-growth and established products.
- Partner with Product, Technology, Operations, and Marketing teams to assess investment opportunities and allocate resources efficiently.
- Develop and improve financial models to evaluate return on investment, profitability, and long-term value creation.
- Design frameworks to measure success across product lifecycles, facilitating alignment on key performance metrics.
- Convert strategic priorities into practical annual budgets and forecasts that incorporate market trends, customer behaviors, and product maturity.
- Perform unit economics, profitability, and lifetime value analyses to inform go-to-market strategies and investment decisions.
- Lead capital allocation processes alongside business leaders, ensuring responsible financial management.
- Oversee and mentor a team of skilled finance professionals to foster high performance and growth.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- At least six years of experience in strategic finance, investment banking, or corporate finance.
- Proficiency in handling large data sets and financial reporting tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven adaptability in ambiguous, dynamic environments.
- Experience using SQL or comparable data manipulation technologies to generate business insights.
- Strong systems thinking skills to address complex multifaceted challenges.
- Exceptional storytelling capability to translate complex financial data into impactful narratives for leadership.
Additional Information
For San Francisco-based roles, the salary range is $162,000 to $180,000 annually. Employees across all US locations qualify for Uber's bonus program, equity awards, a comprehensive 401(k) plan, and various other benefits. While remote work is available, employees are expected to spend at least half their time onsite unless full remote is approved. Some positions require full-time office presence.
