Role Overview
As a Senior Manager for Earned Media Strategy within our Consumer Practice, you'll be instrumental in shaping cultural conversations around iconic brands such as M&M'S®, SNICKERS®, and TWIX®. This role requires a passion for pop culture, a knack for media navigation, and an aptitude for creating viral brand moments through inventive media campaigns.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of pioneering earned media campaigns positioning our brands at cultural epicenters, including major events like the Super Bowl and trending social media dialogues.
- Craft persuasive pitches and nurture strong relationships with top-tier journalists, podcasters, and influential bloggers to secure impactful and credible media coverage.
- Act as the primary daily liaison for clients, offering strategic advice and managing logistics of high-profile events and program coordination to ensure flawless execution.
- Contribute creatively in brainstorming sessions and establish measurable KPIs to demonstrate campaign effectiveness and share successes to motivate the team.
- Provide mentorship and leadership to junior team members, fostering a collaborative and energetic team culture.
Required Qualifications
- Between 5 to 7 years of experience in public relations, with a strong affinity for pop culture, sports, and consumer brand sectors.
- Proven media relations expertise, including established connections with media professionals across traditional outlets, podcasts, and digital platforms like Substack.
- Excellent strategic and creative problem-solving skills, with capability to design and adjust integrated media plans for optimal impact.
- Strong leadership and project management abilities complemented by superior communication and presentation skills.
- A passionate and proactive approach to work, with a consistent record of driving successful outcomes.
Compensation and Work Arrangement
The salary for this position ranges from $81,000 to $98,000 annually, with the exact figure determined by factors such as experience, qualifications, and company standards. Employees are expected to work onsite in Chicago, Illinois, with a minimum of three office days weekly, subject to increase per company policy.
