About the Role

The Canadian Cancer Society (CCS) seeks a Manager for Leadership Giving to join their team in Montreal, Quebec. This position offers a hybrid work model and a salary range between $70,000 and $80,000 CAD. Reporting to the Director of Leadership Giving – Quebec and French Canada, this role is centered on expanding and maintaining major gift revenues by engaging with Canada's influential donors and industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of approximately 150 current and prospective donors and foundations contributing over $10,000, focusing on identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of relationships.
  • Develop and deliver presentations tailored to donors' priorities, collaborating with Leadership & Corporate Giving teams and grant writers to uncover new funding sources.
  • Work collaboratively with the Corporate Partnership team to support comprehensive revenue development initiatives including sponsorships and events.
  • Monitor and share relevant internal and external trends impacting revenue efforts, ensuring insights inform planning.
  • Recruit and nurture major gift donors and volunteer ambassadors to build engagement year-round, maximizing revenue and donor loyalty.
  • Engage a wide network and utilize existing contacts to expand fundraising opportunities.
  • Conduct thorough research to align donor needs with CCS funding initiatives and develop compelling proposals and pitches.
  • Effectively manage objections by clarifying agreements and facilitating positive outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate donor data within Salesforce and adhere to CCS policies and corporate development standards.
  • Comply with occupational health and safety regulations and contribute to a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace culture.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, occasionally outside regular office hours, with some travel anticipated.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in a related discipline.
  • Minimum of five years' proven success in marketing, business development, corporate fundraising, or major gifts, preferably within the non-profit sector.
  • Strong planning, development, and negotiation capabilities combined with a results-driven mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and persuasive presentation experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and leverage integrated opportunities and build strong relationships.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Salesforce, and Windows environments.
  • Bilingualism is highly desirable, with French fluency required and English considered an asset.
