Maintenance Technician

Role Overview

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the upkeep and troubleshooting of production and warehouse machinery, focusing on multiple trades with guidance. Utilizing maintenance and reliability techniques, the technician will perform preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance to optimize facility assets.

Work Schedule and Compensation

This role offers shifts including a night shift (7:00 pm - 7:00 am, Thursday to Wednesday, 7 days on and off) and a day shift (7:00 am - 3:00 pm, Monday to Friday). Compensation ranges between $32.00 and $42.00 per hour, dependent on experience.

Typical Duties

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain chocolate production equipment, including roll refiners, conches, roasters, conveyors, pumps, blowers, and valves
• Perform preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance across the facility
• Use various hand, power, and precision maintenance tools
• Apply skills in electrical/motor control, PLC and VFD troubleshooting, pipefitting, fabrication, gearbox and bearing replacement, lubrication, pumps and piping systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and combustion systems
• Modify or assemble equipment by interpreting electrical/mechanical schematics, blueprints, and manuals
• Record work completion and findings using maintenance software
• Collaborate with colleagues and management to drive continuous process improvements and maintain a teamwork environment
• Operate forklifts, loaders, scissor lifts, and aerial lifts
• Follow all safety guidelines and maintain a clean, safe workspace
• Perform additional assigned duties as required

Qualifications

• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship
• At least 18 years old
• High school diploma or equivalent
• A minimum of two years of multi-skill industrial electrician/mechanic experience in manufacturing or equivalent trade school training involving maintenance tasks such as electrical troubleshooting on three-phase power, welding, pipefitting, fabrication, rigging, gearbox/bearing replacement, lubrication, pumps and piping, hydraulics, and pneumatics
• Physical capability for job tasks, including bending, lifting up to 50 lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, twisting, with or without accommodation
• Work adaptability to varying indoor/outdoor conditions, like heat, cold, dust, and noise, using personal protective equipment
• Willingness to work holidays, nights, weekends, or varying shifts with notice
• Availability for on-call rotations involving nights, weekends, and holidays to respond to breakdowns
• Capacity to work at heights over 4 feet and within confined spaces
• Proficient English communication skills (verbal and written)
• Basic computer literacy, including Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in food manufacturing environments
• Familiarity with safe work procedures such as pre-job hazard analysis, confined space protocols, and job task permitting
• Trade certification, degree in maintenance or related fields, or relevant military experience
