Maintenance Representative

Job Overview

Seeking a Maintenance Representative in London, Ontario to oversee the safety and daily upkeep of residential properties managed by Homestead Land Holdings Limited. The role entails conducting routine inspections, handling resident maintenance requests, and executing general repairs while adhering to established safety and maintenance protocols.

Primary Duties

• Manage and prioritize work orders, including input and closure within the company's online Maintenance Portal.
• Coordinate work order submissions and involve team members to resolve resident maintenance issues efficiently.
• Schedule repair jobs with contractors under management's guidance, providing resident notice for access.
• Perform daily reviews on outstanding work orders and track progress.
• Maintain inventory levels and place orders to replenish stock materials as needed.
• Carry out various general maintenance tasks such as replacing plumbing fixtures (faucets, taps, toilets, valves), repairing leaks, changing electrical components (light switches, smoke detectors, fuses), testing generators, and fixing structural elements (countertops, locks, doors, shelves, drywall repair).
• Conduct weekly maintenance walkthroughs to identify and repair common area defects, including door closures, lighting, tile and carpet repairs, graffiti removal, and vandalism remediation.
• Operate and maintain fire safety equipment including fire alarm resets, extinguisher use, and inspection with logbook updates.

Qualifications and Skills

• Prior professional experience in maintenance preferred.
• Ability to safely lift up to 20 kilograms (e.g., trash bags, equipment).
• Strong dependability, attention to detail, and commitment to safe work practices.
• Proficiency with computers and maintenance management software.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Mechanical aptitude and capacity to multitask and stay organized.
• Administrative skills and the ability to interact patiently and diplomatically with residents.
