About the Role

Safety-Kleen in Breslau, Ontario is seeking a dedicated Industrial Maintenance Planner to join its safety-oriented team. The primary goal of this position is to enhance operational profitability by executing well-planned maintenance activities. The incumbent will be responsible for managing daily work order preparation, verifying parts availability, and scheduling maintenance to align with manpower and workshop capacity, thereby minimizing delays and improving asset uptime.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere strictly to health and safety standards, ensuring safe conduct and compliance with all safety policies.
  • Coordinate daily prioritization of site work and work orders in partnership with Operations and Maintenance Supervisors.
  • Manage the collection and analysis of maintenance data to support future planned maintenance activities.
  • Produce reports and provide recommendations to enhance maintenance efficiency.
  • Review backlog and scheduling constraints to create effective schedules supporting asset maintenance and reliability programs.
  • Communicate with Supervisors regarding issues or significant changes impacting planned maintenance.
  • Enhance planning efficiency by linking repetitive job plans.
  • Support decisions to optimize work plans following operational policies and participate in budget preparation.
  • Contribute to shutdown planning, coordination, and scheduling in collaboration with the maintenance team.
  • Understand and manage resource availability including equipment, materials, personnel, and contractors from both onsite and offsite sources.
  • Identify and implement improvements in Maintenance Management Systems to enhance long-term planning and scheduling.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • 1 to 2 years of Canadian experience in Maintenance Planning and Inventory Control.
  • Proficiency in reading technical drawings and identifying parts.
  • Relevant professional development in Mechanical Engineering or related disciplines.
  • Intermediate knowledge of CMMS or Facility Asset Management software.
  • Primary responsibility as CMMS administrator including managing work and repair orders and recording parts usage.
  • Understanding of metrics that govern maintenance efficiency.
  • Adept in navigating and collaborating within a matrix organizational structure.
  • Strong negotiation capabilities.
  • Proven skills in project and change management.
  • Experience facilitating and training others, including handling complex conversations.
  • High proficiency with computer systems.

Work Conditions & Benefits

  • Work hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
  • Competitive base annual salary ranging from $72,000 to $82,000.
