Role Summary
We are seeking a Maintenance Engineer with expertise in Electrical and Mechatronics based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will ensure the dependable operation, efficiency, and safety of factory machinery including press machines, CNC and laser cutting systems, drilling equipment, tube mills, and slitting lines alongside automation frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute hands-on preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on all machinery and equipment.
- Provide training, mentorship, and support to junior technicians and apprentices.
- Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components.
- Troubleshoot issues with PLCs, control systems, motors, drives, and automation panels.
- Maximize equipment uptime while minimizing breakdowns.
- Collaborate closely with production and quality departments to reduce downtime and enhance efficiency.
- Adhere to maintenance codes, company policies, and safety standards.
- Design and maintain maintenance schedules for electrical systems.
- Implement safety protocols such as lock-out/tag-out and risk assessments during maintenance tasks.
- Monitor critical metrics including vibration, temperature, lubrication, and energy consumption.
- Support installation and commissioning of new machinery.
- Develop and apply new mechanical systems or modify existing machinery as needed.
- Coordinate and supervise external contractors for general building maintenance.
- Manage spare parts inventory and technically liaise with OEMs and suppliers.
Team and Relationship Management
- Supervise and direct maintenance technicians and contractors during maintenance and repairs.
- Assign daily maintenance activities, track progress, and enforce procedural compliance.
- Offer on-the-job training and encourage a culture of proactive maintenance.
- Coordinate shutdowns and maintenance schedules with production and quality assurance teams.
- Promote teamwork, continuous learning, and accountability within the maintenance team.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of industrial or factory maintenance experience.
- Demonstrated skills in maintaining and troubleshooting press machines, CNC, laser, drilling, tube mill, and slitting lines.
- Strong understanding of industrial automation including PLCs, drives, motors, sensors, and control systems.
- Proficiency in electrical system troubleshooting and repairs.
- Familiar with preventive and predictive maintenance methodologies and related tools.
- Knowledgeable of safety standards such as OSHA and ISO as well as energy management practices.
- Experience participating in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and 5S programs.
- Ability to propose and implement upgrades or automation to enhance reliability and energy efficiency.
- Maintain thorough maintenance documentation, logs, and equipment histories.
- Excellent communication capabilities.
- Proficient in MS Office, CMMS software, and maintenance documentation tools.
Preferred Skills and Conditions
- Experience analyzing repetitive failures and applying root cause analysis (RCA) to enact corrective measures.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to work night shifts and respond to emergency call-outs as needed.
