Job Overview
The Maintenance Assistant will collaborate closely with the Maintenance Manager to uphold optimal functioning and maintenance of all hotel areas, ensuring the safety and satisfaction of both staff and guests at Ballymascanlon House, Dundalk.
Key Responsibilities
- Review the maintenance log daily and report to the Maintenance Manager regarding assigned tasks.
- Replace all blown light bulbs by collecting and acting on daily bulb lists.
- Collect and dispose of rubbish from all hotel areas to the designated skip zone.
- Support the Maintenance Manager by addressing repair and maintenance needs promptly.
- Maintain a high degree of care and diligence during all tasks to safeguard personal and others' safety.
- Implement appropriate safety signage and security measures to minimize injury risks.
- Communicate directly with the Maintenance Manager and Hotel Management regarding maintenance concerns.
- Perform routine tasks including descaling shower heads every three months and cleaning extraction fans monthly.
- Carry out internal painting duties as required.
- Provide comprehensive daily handover reports to update Maintenance Manager and Hotel Management on ongoing issues.

- Arrive punctually, maintaining proper uniform standards, grooming, and personal hygiene.
- Adhere to company policies, including terms, conditions, and house rules as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Comply with responsibilities within the Health & Safety Statement.
- Understand and follow the operational standards of the maintenance department.
- Deliver exceptional guest care through attentive and courteous service.
- Promote teamwork by being respectful and offering assistance to colleagues when necessary.
- Maintain safety awareness to prevent accidents or injuries in the workplace.
