About the Role
As a Maintenance Assistant Engineer specializing in Electrical systems, you will play a critical role in maintaining and improving the reliability, safety, and performance of factory equipment and electrical installations at a leading renewable energy manufacturer in Saudi Arabia. Your efforts will focus on carrying out preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance to enhance equipment uptime and support continuous manufacturing improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine preventive and corrective maintenance on various factory machinery and equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve faults related to electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, PLC, drive systems, motors, and automation technologies.
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of press machines, CNC machines, laser cutters, drilling machines, tube mills, and slitting lines.
- Create and implement effective preventive maintenance plans and schedules.
- Assist with the installation, commissioning, and modification of new production equipment.
- Analyze equipment performance data to perform Root Cause Analysis and reduce recurring failures.
- Liaise with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to minimize downtime and improve operational efficiency.
- Supervise maintenance technicians and coordinate with external contractors during maintenance projects.
- Manage spare parts inventories and collaborate with original equipment manufacturers and suppliers for technical support.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards including Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures, risk assessments, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), and 5S housekeeping standards.
- Maintain comprehensive maintenance records, reports, and equipment history documentation.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Between 5 to 8 years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Proficient in handling equipment such as press machines, CNC machines, laser cutting machines, drilling machines, tube mills, and slitting lines.
- Thorough understanding of PLCs, industrial automation, variable frequency drives (VFDs), motors and drives, electrical control panels, sensors, instrumentation, and maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Good knowledge of safety regulations including OSHA, ISO, and industrial safety standards.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical capabilities coupled with effective communication skills.
- Flexibility to work in shifts and availability for emergency maintenance responses.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in sectors such as solar energy, renewable energy, heavy manufacturing, or industrial production.
- Demonstrated expertise in Root Cause Analysis, TPM, Lean Manufacturing principles, and continuous improvement programs.
- Knowledge of energy efficiency measures and automation system upgrades.
