Position Summary
The Logistics Manager will be responsible for leading all operational aspects of the Regional Distribution Centre's warehouse and transport activities. This role includes managing stock intake, storage, and dispatch to ensure customer orders are processed accurately and timely. Key duties encompass team leadership, cost management, process optimization, compliance with health and safety and regulatory standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team comprising Supervisors, Warehouse Operatives and Drivers to foster a high-performance culture.
- Set clear goals and conduct frequent performance evaluations with coaching and training support.
- Oversee logistics functions including receiving, storing, picking, and shipping of goods.
- Maintain delivery schedules with a consistent 24 to 48-hour order fulfillment timeframe.
- Monitor operational metrics and costs, identifying improvements and savings.
- Ensure efficient use of labor, fleet, and equipment resources.
- Collaborate cross-functionally, particularly with Sales, to meet delivery and customer expectations.
- Implement company-wide logistics strategies locally, aligned with larger business aims.
- Support stock control and coordinate planning and resources for inventory counts.
- Take charge of health and safety compliance across warehouse and transport operations.
- Manage vehicle compliance and maintenance, including inspections and legal requirements.
- Oversee upkeep of plant, equipment, and facility safety to ensure smooth operations.
- Ensure compliance with ISO9001, ISO14001 standards, as well as ESG and sustainability objectives.
- Champion continuous improvement projects to enhance service quality, efficiency, and cost effectiveness.
- Foster strong internal partnerships to support collaborative operational success.
Candidate Requirements
- Demonstrated experience managing logistics operations covering warehouses and transportation.
- Proven leadership skills with experience in coaching and developing teams.
- Ability to work effectively in fast-moving distribution or supply chain settings.
- Knowledge of logistics cost management, budgeting, and performance indicators.
- Familiarity with route planning and logistics management software.
- Proficient in IT, including Microsoft Office and operational systems.
- Deep understanding of health and safety regulations related to logistics environments.
- Experience managing fleet maintenance, legal compliance, and driver records.
- Strong organizational skills with solid problem-solving and prioritization capabilities.
- Must be able to travel conveniently to the workplace location.
Preferred Qualifications
- Forklift licenses such as Counterbalance, Reach, Pivot-Steer, or Power Pallet Truck.
- HGV license with CPC certification.
- Background in packaging distribution or similar consumable goods sectors.
- Experience working within multi-site or national distribution operations.

The position offers a basic salary up to €51,480 annually depending on experience, complemented by bonuses and a flexible benefits program, including:
