Role Overview
The Loan Kit Technician position, based in Mount Wellington, Auckland, supports the provision of crucial surgical kits for orthopaedic procedures across New Zealand. This role ensures surgical instruments are meticulously prepared, maintained, dispatched, and managed to uphold patient safety and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Perform detailed inspection and assembly of loaned orthopaedic instrument sets aligning with quality protocols.
- Coordinate dispatch and receipt of loan kits between sites, maximizing resource utilization nationwide.
- Accurately record kit movements including dispatches and returns using the ERP system.
- Verify cleanliness and operational status of returned instrument kits to maintain quality standards.
- Communicate effectively with hospital Loan Kit Coordinators to resolve issues involving missing or damaged instruments promptly.
- Support stock management tasks like cycle counts, renewal of expired or broken items, and inventory control.
- Ensure timely and compliant dispatch of kits according to orders and established timeframes.
- Collaborate with internal teams such as customer service, inventory consignment, and commercial departments to fulfill surgeon and client demands.
- Participate in on-call duties providing flexible assistance to customer needs.
- Adhere to policies related to ISO 13485, quality assurance, compliance, and environmental, safety, health, and sustainability standards.
Candidate Profile
- Genuine interest or background in MedTech, biomedical sciences, or orthopaedics.
- High attention to detail and dedication to maintaining quality standards.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, practical setting.
- Strong initiative with proactive problem-solving and accountability.
- Excellent organizational skills encompassing time management and multitasking.
- Effective communication and teamwork as integral work attributes.
