Job Overview
The Life Support Training Center (LSTC) Instructor role involves providing comprehensive education in life support techniques to healthcare professionals, ensuring they achieve required certification standards. This position demands curriculum creation, thorough performance evaluation, and adherence to current resuscitation guidelines. Collaboration with clinical teams and commitment to continuous professional development are integral to the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver all LSTC program instructions and participate in instructor training when required.
- Maintain valid licensure and ensure continuous mandatory training compliance by effectively utilizing resources.
- Develop curricula and agendas for both Basic and Advanced life support programs, including preparation of reference materials, slides, and evaluation instruments.
- Conduct written and practical assessments to evaluate students' competencies and eligibility for certification.
- Provide remedial support to students needing additional assistance and issue completion cards and certificates after successful course completion.
- Coordinate and conduct Mock Code programs (BLS/ACLS/NRP) within Fakeeh Healthcare, managing monitoring and documentation tasks.
- Stay current by reviewing latest intensive care and resuscitation literature and networking with clinical experts.
- Follow infection control protocols related to equipment upkeep and assist with troubleshooting any issues.
- Contribute to inventory control for all necessary LSTC equipment, aligning with safety and quality standards.
- Prepare classrooms and skills labs to meet clinical requirements and align with staff schedules.
- Engage regularly with management to review training effectiveness and maintain compliance.
- Communicate effectively across multidisciplinary clinical and educational teams.
- Participate in outreach and provide instruction in life support courses to other healthcare organizations as assigned.
- Manage test results using the SHA portal and keep all related documentation accurate and up to date.
- Optimize resource use to achieve LSTC training objectives and support procurement processes.
- Attend meetings with unit leaders and departments to assist in planning and implementing LSTC policies and workflows.
- Perform additional related duties as delegated within the job’s scope.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite for training preparation and evaluation.
- Strong communication skills for effective delivery of training content and interaction with healthcare teams.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities to oversee multiple concurrent training sessions.
- Capability to assess trainee performance objectively and provide constructive feedback.
- Minimum of three years’ experience teaching life support courses including BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP.
- MBBS/MD from an accredited medical institution or a Registered Nurse with BSc/MSc in Nursing, holding location-specific registration and healthcare background.
- Fluency in both English and Arabic, with excellent written and verbal communication.
- Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP accredited by AHA and SHA.
