Role Summary
The Learning & Development Manager at Hermès in Dubai is responsible for defining and executing the company's L&D strategy to ensure every employee attains five days of learning annually. This role leads the retail training function and collaborates closely with HR business partners to nurture key talents and align training initiatives with both regional and global objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a regional L&D strategy aligned with the HR Director's vision, business goals, and the greater Hermès group learning objectives.
- Partner with the Retail Training Manager to design an annual learning plan tailored to regional retail needs.
- Drive innovation through the use of digital learning platforms and blended learning methodologies.
- Monitor industry trends to continually enhance the learning offerings.
- Collaborate with global and regional HR teams to synchronize talent initiatives.
- Manage all head office employee development activities, including needs analysis, training delivery or sourcing, and impact evaluation.
- Design and implement key talent development programs such as management development, UAE National advancement paths, as well as high potential and leadership initiatives.
- Work with HR partners to develop tailored learning plans for identified successors and build organizational strength.
- Supervise the Retail Training Manager to maintain consistent, high-quality retail training across the Middle East.
- Evaluate training effectiveness, maintain accurate administrative records, and manage the L&D department budget.
- Lead and develop the L&D team to maximize performance and delivery quality.
Success Indicators
- Successful creation and launch of impactful L&D programs aligned with regional HR and commercial goals.
- Recognition as the key point of contact for L&D support across various stakeholders.
- Capability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic work environment.
- Demonstrated excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills with strong retail sector knowledge.
Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum seven years' experience in HR management focusing on talent development, training, or L&D preferably in retail or similar customer-oriented industries.
- Proven track record of developing and managing robust talent programs.
- Deep understanding of learning frameworks and employee growth strategies.
- Strong communication and facilitation abilities.
- Proficient in the use of HR software and Microsoft Office applications.
Additional Information
Reporting to the HR Director, this role is part of the Human Resources unit at the Dubai Head Office and oversees two direct reports: a Retail Training Manager and an L&D Executive.
