Overview
Sukoon Health is recruiting a Lead Nurse specializing in psychiatry to oversee clinical and operational functions in outpatient, inpatient, and rehabilitation psychiatric settings. This leadership role demands ensuring compassionate, safe, and evidence-based nursing care practices while guiding nursing teams, fostering quality and patient safety improvements, enhancing workforce skills, and maintaining adherence to mental health care regulations. The Lead Nurse collaborates closely with multidisciplinary teams to achieve excellent patient outcomes and elevate clinical standards.
Key Duties
- Oversee safe, patient-focused psychiatric nursing care delivery.
- Supervise assessments, medication administration, and clinical interventions.
- Monitor patient behaviors, risks, and treatment effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with legal and ethical mental health care protocols.
- Manage psychiatric emergencies such as suicide risks, aggression, and withdrawal symptoms.
- Promote dignified, least-restrictive care and de-escalation methods.
- Lead and mentor nursing staff including nurses, team leaders, GDAs, and patient handlers.
- Organize staffing schedules, duty rosters, and leaves.
- Conduct clinical rounds, shift handovers, and uphold nursing discipline and standards.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and staff retention.
- Conduct orientation and competency-based training for nursing teams on psychiatric protocols and safety.
- Mentor clinical development and leadership capabilities among staff.
- Maintain training records and conduct capability assessments.
- Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and hospital policies.
- Manage nursing documentation, medication records, incident reports, and consent forms.
- Lead infection control, patient safety, and quality initiatives.
- Coordinate with internal audits and regulatory compliance efforts.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for integrated patient care planning and communication.
- Manage supplies, equipment, and coordinate with various departments for smooth operations.
- Lead nursing team responses to emergencies and critical situations ensuring safety and proper protocols.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (B.Sc Nursing) with a minimum of 6 years experience, or
- Master's degree in Nursing (M.Sc Nursing) with at least 3 years of experience.
- Valid Registered Nurse license (RN/RNRM).
- Experience in psychiatric, behavioral health, rehabilitation, or multispecialty hospital settings.
- Proven leadership experience in nursing teams and clinical operations management.
- Preferred experience in nursing education, quality assurance, and accreditation processes.
