Lead HV Electrical Engineer - Data Centre

Summary

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Lead High Voltage (HV) Electrical Engineer for a 12-month renewable contract. This role involves designing and managing sophisticated electrical systems for Modular Containerized Facility (MCF) and data centre projects worldwide, ensuring these critical infrastructures operate securely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee electrical scope packages across numerous projects to guarantee timely execution and uphold quality standards.
• Establish project scope, design parameters, and management goals while maintaining effective communication with contractors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
• Develop technical specifications and detailed reports to support project requirements.
• Contribute to financial oversight through cost management, risk evaluations, and vendor assessments.
• Build and sustain strong vendor partnerships to support ongoing professional advancement.
• Evaluate contractor qualifications and participate in the tender review process.
• Represent the organization during factory acceptance testing, on-site testing, and commissioning phases.
• Provide clear and consistent project status updates to internal teams and external stakeholders.

Expertise Required

• Design and management of power supply systems spanning from low voltage (5V DC) to high voltage substations up to 150kV, including distribution, storage solutions, and uninterruptible power sources.
• Experience with security systems installations such as fire suppression, intrusion detection, and controlled access systems, critical for data centre safety.
• Competence in working within operational live data centres, handling risk assessments, thorough testing procedures, and coordinating commissioning activities.
