Laundry Team Leader

Primary Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee all activities within the laundry department during assigned shift.
• Inspect operational areas to ensure efficient methods and procedures are followed.
• Assist guests promptly with urgent laundry requests.
• Handle guest items with the utmost care to reduce damage.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of laundry equipment operation and functionality.
• Control and apply laundry chemicals and supplies accurately to maintain safety and cost efficiency while upholding high-quality standards.
• Ensure quality control of linens and staff uniforms processed in-house.
• Report any malfunctioning machines swiftly to the Laundry Manager or Engineering department.
• Collaborate with assistants and supervisors to address production and staffing issues.
• Conduct training and information sessions for team members aligned with Hilton’s policies and procedures.
• Keep records on production standards and employee training methods.
• Adhere strictly to company policies including code of conduct, security, and emergency procedures.
• Monitor linen condition, inventory levels, stain rates, damaged items, and production output to schedule timely reordering, rewashing and repairs.
• Document hourly productivity metrics, focusing on pieces processed per operator hour.
• Carry out all steps of linen processing: collection, transport, sorting, weighing, washing, ironing, folding, storage, delivery, and cleaning of both equipment and workspace as required.
• Perform any additional tasks assigned as needed.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum two years’ experience working in a commercial laundry environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Strong organizational, communication, and coordination abilities.
• Effective team player with capability to maintain excellent workplace relationships.
• Capacity to work effectively under physical demands.
• Comprehensive understanding of all laundry processes including washing, spotting, starching, dry-cleaning, pressing, and operating laundry machinery.
