Job Description
East Suffolk Council delivers essential local services to approximately 250,000 residents across East Suffolk and is seeking to expand its Building Maintenance Team by hiring an LGV Labourer.
This role involves performing or assisting in a diverse range of building maintenance duties related to the council’s retained housing stock. Tasks may be carried out as part of a team or independently, focusing on providing repair and maintenance services for council tenants' homes.
The position includes physically demanding duties, including manual handling, typical in a building maintenance environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake various building maintenance tasks to support repair services for council housing.
- Work independently or collaboratively within the Building Maintenance Team to complete assigned duties.
- Perform manual handling and physically intensive activities associated with building maintenance.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Experience working on building sites with knowledge of basic building maintenance procedures.
- Possession of a Class 2 LGV driving licence.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as a team member without supervision.
