Role Overview

This position is to expand the Kitchen Design Team at the Porirua store with one day per week assisting in the bathroom department. Applicants should be enthusiastic and positive with a strong commitment to exceptional customer service for both trade clients and DIY customers.

Kitchen design is a highlight of the store, showcasing a broad range of products. This role offers the chance to creatively design and retail kitchens, aiding customers with kitchen makeovers, selecting flat-pack options, and choosing suitable appliances. Additionally, the role includes gaining experience in bathroom design.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage in comprehensive consultations with customers to understand their needs.
• Create kitchen layouts using CAD design software.
• Develop detailed plans, quotations, and design presentations.
• Oversee projects from initial design through to final installation.
• Coordinate with suppliers, installers, and internal teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Ensure accurate ordering and proper documentation throughout projects.
• Maintain showroom appearance and product displays.
• Monitor inventory levels and reorder stock as needed.
• Communicate with suppliers regarding availability and lead times.
• Support sales goals and departmental KPIs.
• Assist broader retail teams when necessary.
• Uphold workplace health and safety standards.
• Keep job tracking, filing, and workflow systems organized.

The ideal candidate is collaborative yet self-sufficient, recognizing that successful kitchen design combines creativity with precise planning and outstanding customer care. Prior experience in kitchen design, cabinet making, joinery, or similar, along with strong CAD drafting skills aligned with customer requirements, is essential. Possession of a forklift license is considered advantageous.

Working Hours

• Tuesday: 10:00AM to 6:00PM
• Wednesday: 7:00AM to 3:00PM
• Thursday: 10:00AM to 6:00PM
• Friday: 7:00AM to 3:00PM
• Saturday: 10:00AM to 6:00PM
