Role Overview

The role requires hands-on experience as a Product and Packaging Designer responsible for transforming concepts into tangible packaging, product, and physical components. You'll manage the entire process from initial sketches through prototyping to final production while aiding in client interaction and logistical coordination.

Ideal candidates will demonstrate expertise in 3D and packaging design, a genuine passion for materials and craftsmanship, plus the capacity to independently manage several projects through various phases without extensive supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and support multiple design projects from concept initiation to delivery, progressively taking leadership of your own projects.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships while contributing to generating new business opportunities.
• Ensure exceptional organisational standards, delivering premium client service and project execution.
• Collaborate with external partners and suppliers aligned with project requirements.
• Conduct comprehensive research and source appropriate production materials based on specific client briefs.
• Design creative packaging and products that meet client goals and budget limitations.
• Innovate packaging solutions that enhance user experience and prioritize sustainability.
• Create mood boards and presentations to effectively communicate design ideas.
• Utilise sketches and models to clearly articulate designs to internal teams, partners, and clients.
• Stay informed about current trends and materials to fuel design inspiration and evolution.
• Coordinate with suppliers to collect pricing and confirm production timelines.
• Manage project timelines, logistics, and ensure on-time, budget-conscious delivery.
• Serve as the primary client liaison, ensuring clients remain engaged throughout the project lifecycle.
• Handle procurement of materials and samples, facilitate client approvals, and oversee production orders.
• Prioritise quality and sustainability in all deliverables.
• Track project costs, schedules, and budgets meticulously.
• Handle multiple projects, vendor relationships, and clients across various time zones concurrently.
• Provide progress reporting to the wider design team.
• Maintain awareness and seek opportunities to improve sustainable production methods and materials.

Required Skills and Experience

• Background in product, industrial, or packaging design with direct involvement in production and prototyping.
• Strong 3D design capability, including packaging structures such as dielines and material specification; familiarity with 3D printing workflows is highly desirable.
• Between 1 to 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign); working knowledge of CAD and rendering applications is advantageous.
• An exacting attention to detail and dedication to high-quality work.
• Effective problem-solving skills employing a positive, proactive, and sensible approach.
• Ability to efficiently manage multiple fast-paced projects independently with strong organisational and time management skills.
• Clear and confident communication skills, both verbal and written, to foster strong client relationships.
• Capability to perform well in dynamic environments, demonstrating initiative and efficiency improvements.
• Competency with Excel spreadsheets.
