Role Overview
We are looking for an IT Technician to manage daily operations, administration, and maintenance of our enterprise IT environment. This role extends beyond typical help desk duties and provides an opportunity to solve technical challenges, deliver outstanding user support, and contribute to secure and efficient IT infrastructure growth. The technician will support end-users, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID, Azure Government Community Cloud (GCC), Active Directory, and endpoint management technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver technical support for hardware, software, Microsoft 365, networking, and user account issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve problems relating to Windows desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, business apps, and network connectivity.
- Respond promptly to support requests, documenting the issues, solutions, and customer communication.
- Escalate complex problems to senior IT personnel when necessary.
- Manage user accounts, groups, permissions, and access within Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft 365, and Active Directory.
- Assist with Microsoft 365 service administration including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and associated portals.
- Support hybrid identity environments combining on-premises Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID sync.
- Assist in employee onboarding and offboarding with account and equipment management.
- Set up, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot laptops, desktops, peripherals, and mobile devices.
- Support endpoint management platforms such as Microsoft Intune for device enrollment, software deployment, compliance, and policies.
- Install and update approved operating systems and business software.
- Perform routine system administration tasks under senior IT staff guidance.
- Monitor system health, availability, security alerts, and infrastructure performance metrics.
- Assist with Active Directory management, Group Policy, and Windows Server support.
- Participate in cloud migration projects, software deployments, infrastructure upgrades, and technology enhancements.
- Help troubleshoot networking issues involving DNS, DHCP, VPN, and endpoint communication.
- Maintain documentation including system configurations, procedures, troubleshooting guides, and inventory records.
- Track hardware assets, software licenses, and IT inventory.
- Support IT compliance by following security policies and keeping accurate documentation.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in technical support, help desk, or systems administration within corporate, government, or professional IT environments.
- Solid experience with Microsoft Windows OS and Microsoft 365 services.
- Experience with Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, and hybrid identity setups.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure or Azure Government environments.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, documentation, and customer service skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently with professionalism and attention to detail.
- Preferred knowledge of Microsoft Intune or similar endpoint management tools.
- Familiarity with Azure Government Community Cloud (GCC).
- Working knowledge of Windows Server, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and endpoint security.
- Experience with cloud migrations, Microsoft 365 administration, and enterprise infrastructure projects.
- Previous experience supporting government contractors or regulated environments is a plus.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Network+, A+, Microsoft Certified Azure Fundamentals, Microsoft 365 Certified Fundamentals, and preferably Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator Associate.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this role is $60,000 to $65,000 annually.
