Role overview
This position is for an IT Infrastructure Lead based in Chennai, India. The role focuses on building, running, and improving enterprise technology environments that span Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Exchange, and multiple cloud platforms such as OCI, AWS, Azure, and GCP, along with on-premises systems. The objective is to keep infrastructure highly available, secure, scalable, and aligned with business priorities, while coordinating operations, support staff, and external vendors.
Work schedule
Workdays are Monday to Friday, with a day-shift schedule.

Key responsibilities
- Set the direction for enterprise IT architecture across cloud, on-premises, networking, security, and collaboration systems.
- Build hybrid and multi-cloud designs that are resilient, scalable, and cost-conscious.
- Make sure architecture choices support business goals, compliance needs, and security expectations.
- Prepare and maintain architecture diagrams, technical standards, and long-term roadmaps.
- Oversee Microsoft 365 administration, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive.
- Manage Exchange environments in hybrid or on-premises setups wherever applicable.
- Administer Active Directory, Azure AD/Entra ID, Group Policies, and identity lifecycle processes.
- Put in place SSO, MFA, Conditional Access, and other identity security controls.
- Plan, deploy, and support workloads on OCI, AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- Assess cloud services, choose suitable platforms, and define governance approaches.
- Track cloud availability, performance, security, and spending, including FinOps practices.
- Lead cloud migrations, disaster recovery planning, and cloud-to-cloud integration work.
- Manage on-premises servers, virtualization, storage, backup systems, and data center operations.
- Ensure on-prem and cloud environments work together smoothly.
- Handle patching, performance improvements, capacity planning, and infrastructure refreshes.
- Design and validate backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity arrangements.
- Apply security policies, access controls, and hardening practices across all environments.
- Help maintain compliance with internal, regulatory, and industry requirements.
- Coordinate audits, security reviews, and corrective actions.
- Set up monitoring, logging, and incident response processes.
- Lead incident, problem, change, and capacity management activities.
- Maintain service quality, uptime, and adherence to SLAs.
- Promote automation, standard processes, and operational efficiency.
- Prepare operational metrics, KPIs, and executive-level summaries.
- Lead and coach IT operations, cloud, and support teams.
- Serve as the escalation point for major incidents and outages.
- Manage vendors, MSPs, and cloud providers, including contract and SLA reviews.
- Keep SOPs, runbooks, architecture documents, and operational guides current.
- Find opportunities to improve processes, modernize systems, and automate routine work.
- Stay current on new developments in cloud, security, and infrastructure technologies.
- Support junior IT staff and assist end users when needed.
- Produce reports on infrastructure health, uptime, incidents, and system improvements.
- Share KPI updates and executive reports to support leadership decisions on infrastructure, support services, and project delivery.
Requirements
- At least 15 years of experience in IT infrastructure and operations management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Management Systems, or a closely related field.
- Professional certifications such as MCSE, MCSA, Azure Administrator, or OCI Architect are expected.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of Microsoft 365, Exchange, Active Directory, and Azure AD.
- Practical experience with AWS, Azure, OCI, and GCP.
- Deep understanding of enterprise architecture and hybrid cloud design.
- Good working knowledge of on-premises infrastructure, virtualization, backup, and disaster recovery.
- Understanding of networking, security, and identity management frameworks.
- Strong ability to manage stakeholders and vendors effectively.
- Capacity to explain technical solutions in business terms.
- Excellent documentation and communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience leading teams and handling escalations.
Team structure
The role includes supervision of Senior System Administrator, System Administrator, Office 365 Administrator, and IT Specialist positions.

Compensation
Salary is offered at an industry-standard level or based on the candidate’s current CTC. The advertised salary range is INR 35,00,000 to INR 70,00,000 per year.
