Role overview
Enemix is hiring a motivated Investment Banking Analyst to join its Sydney deal team within a boutique, independent mergers and acquisitions advisory practice. The firm works as a generalist M&A house, advising on sell-side and buy-side transactions, capital raisings, and restructurings for private business owners, public companies, private equity groups, and family offices. Through a strategic alliance, the team also has meaningful access to cross-border and global mid-market deal opportunities.
Senior bankers remain hands-on throughout the transaction lifecycle, giving the successful candidate direct exposure to clients and leadership from the start rather than much later in their career. This opportunity is well suited to someone from a Big 4 Valuations, M&A, or Transaction Services background who wants to move into advisory work and take ownership of live deal execution.
Key responsibilities
The analyst will help support live M&A processes by carrying out detailed financial analysis, building models, and preparing transaction materials. The role also involves research, due diligence support, and active coordination across several projects at once.
Day-to-day work
- Assist with live M&A execution by performing detailed financial analysis, including valuation work and scenario analysis.
- Develop and maintain financial models such as DCF, LBO, comparable company analysis, and precedent transaction analysis.
- Support due diligence by reviewing company information and flagging material risks.
- Prepare polished client-facing documents, including pitch books, teasers, confidential information memoranda, and management presentations.
- Carry out industry, market, and company research to support business development and transaction work.
- Keep multiple live assignments moving by organising priorities across competing deadlines.
- Join client calls and meetings, take clear notes, and prepare materials beforehand.
- Self-review completed work to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness before delivery.
Candidate profile
The ideal applicant holds a bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a related discipline and brings 0 to 3 years of relevant experience in a Big 4 Valuations, M&A Advisory, or Transaction Services team, or comparable investment banking experience. A strong command of valuation methods and financial modelling is essential, along with the desire to transition from a support or diligence function into direct deal execution.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a similar subject.
- 0 to 3 years of relevant experience in Big 4 Valuations, M&A Advisory, Transaction Services, or equivalent investment banking roles.
- Solid understanding of DCF, comparable companies, and precedent transaction valuation approaches.
- Practical financial modelling skills.
- Interest in moving from valuation, diligence, or support work into full transaction execution.
- Strong analytical ability and problem-solving skills with close attention to detail.
- Clear written and spoken communication.
- Ability to juggle several tasks in a fast-moving, deadline-heavy setting.
- Confidence using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Why this role
- Work directly with senior bankers and clients from the beginning of the role.
- Progress from supporting deals to owning live M&A execution.
- Gain broad exposure across multiple industries and transaction structures.
- Benefit from international deal reach through a strategic alliance, including cross-border assignments.
- Advance through a promotion path based on merit.
