Stellenbeschreibung

About the Company

Our client is a prominent Independent Power Producer (IPP) with a large and expanding portfolio of renewable energy projects located throughout the UK and Europe. The investment team plays a central role in the organization, managing corporate financing activities such as debt financing, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate development. They oversee projects from early development phases through investment approvals and into the construction stage.

Team Structure and Growth

The investment team comprises nine members: one Senior Director, one Director, two Investment Principals (VP-level), two Associates, and three Analysts. The company is growing steadily and regularly increases its team size, with a proven history of internal promotions. Notably, recent Analysts have advanced to Associates within 12 to 18 months.

Job Role

The Investment Analyst will gain comprehensive experience across debt, equity, and M&A activities, engaging in both buy-side and sell-side transactions from the outset. This position demands a proactive, hands-on approach with significant responsibility in deal execution rather than passive involvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Final Investment Decision (FID) processes for a pipeline of projects within the UK and Europe.
  • Assist in the initial evaluation and screening of potential investment opportunities.
  • Engage in debt financing activities by coordinating with lenders, reviewing banking models, overseeing due diligence, and managing transaction execution.
  • Develop, update, and analyze comprehensive financial and valuation models.
  • Prepare memo reports, presentation decks, and transaction documentation for board approvals.
  • Monitor and report regularly on the portfolio and project pipeline status.
  • Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships internally across development, project delivery, asset management, and finance teams, with some interaction with senior leadership.
  • Analyze the financial implications of project-specific risks, regulatory shifts, and economic conditions on the overall portfolio, collaborating closely with Project Directors and Policy teams to improve equity returns.
  • Provide support for potential mergers and acquisitions activities.

Candidate Requirements

  • A minimum of 1 to 3 years' relevant experience in investment banking, private equity, management consulting, or similar roles, including developer or IPP environments.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, transaction-driven setting.
  • Preferably, prior exposure to the Renewable Energy or Infrastructure sectors.
  • Strong quantitative aptitude with expertise in financial modeling, advanced Excel, and PowerPoint skills.
  • Excellent communication abilities and stakeholder management experience.
  • Exceptional academic credentials in a relevant discipline; top-tier university degrees and first-class results highly favored.
  • Technically adept with a robust work ethic; able to start contributing immediately, with eagerness to learn quickly.
  • Alignment with company culture is considered a critical factor in hiring decisions.
