Intools Technician

Role Overview

The Intools Technician is responsible for managing and maintaining comprehensive instrumentation data within the facility through the SPI INTools platform. This includes ensuring accurate and timely updates to various instrumentation deliverables in line with quality and safety policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage facility changes and modifications by updating instrumentation deliverables in SPI INTools according to the Q-Chem Process Safety Information Policy and Management of Change requirements within set deadlines.
• Ensure timely updates of instrumentation-related PSI documents such as Instrument Index, Specification Sheets, Wiring Drawings for junction boxes & panels, Interconnection and Loop Drawings, Alarm & Trip Set Controller summaries, and I/O assignments.
• Verify instrumentation data changes, including field verification, during facility change integration.
• Provide up-to-date SPI INTools data support for ongoing facility projects, operations, and maintenance activities.
• Create and maintain new instrumentation data in SPI INTools per engineering requirements.
• Manage instrument tag issuance and maintenance to avoid duplication within the plant.
• Coordinate with IT and SPI INTools contractors for system administration tasks including data initialization, backup, security, recovery, and system upgrades.
• Support bulk data extraction, retrieval, report generation, user management, user training, and software license renewals related to SPI INTools.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for system processes aimed at increasing productivity and operational effectiveness.
• Adhere to all relevant project engineering policies and procedures to ensure controlled and consistent workflow.
• Maintain compliance with quality, health, safety, security, and environmental regulations within the Instrument and Electrical Sections to ensure safe work environments and high-quality outcomes.
• Assist in preparing accurate and timely reports to meet departmental standards and requirements.
• Participate in the development of Qatari nationals as part of Qatarization efforts (applicable to expatriates).

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma in Instrumentation Engineering is required; a Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry is mandatory, with Petrochemical sector experience preferred.
• Practical experience using SPI INTools is essential.
