About Rocket Factory Augsburg
Rocket Factory Augsburg (RFA) is focused on providing affordable, adaptable, and dependable access to space by developing small launch vehicles for deploying satellites into Low Earth Orbit (LEO) and beyond. We seek driven individuals to join our international team to innovate within the New Space movement across Europe.
Your Role and Responsibilities
- Establish requirements for cluster computing environments
- Create foundational aerodynamic models using OpenFOAM
- Perform CFD simulations covering subsonic, transonic, and hypersonic external flows
- Conduct internal CFD analyses including fluid sloshing phenomena
- Enhance and streamline the computation workflow for efficiency
Qualifications
- Enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree in aerospace engineering or simulation technology
- Prior knowledge or coursework in CFD and aerodynamics
- Solid grasp of fluid mathematical and physical modeling as well as numerical methods
- Experience with OpenFOAM, C++, Python, Matlab, and cluster computing systems
- Excellent analytical and independent problem-solving capabilities
- Fluency in English for verbal and written communication, as all daily activities occur in English
