Interior Designer

Job Overview

We are looking for a talented and seasoned Interior Designer with at least 7 years of practical experience in designing and delivering upscale interior environments across residential, commercial, hospitality, and institutional sectors. The candidate will take ownership of interior projects from concept through completion, including design ideation, space planning, material choices, client interactions, and overseeing on-site execution while liaising with contractors and various vendors.

Key Responsibilities

• Create comprehensive design proposals including mood boards, spatial layouts, 2D technical drawings, and detailed 3D renderings that align with client preferences and budgets.
• Develop detailed architectural and interior working drawings covering layouts, elevations, joinery specifics, electrical and plumbing schematics, and ceiling designs.
• Manage projects through all stages from design approval to final delivery ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality benchmarks are met.
• Conduct site inspections regularly to supervise contractors, carpenters, and vendors and address execution-related technical or structural issues.
• Identify and procure superior quality materials, finishes, lighting, furniture, fabrics, fixtures, and hardware.
• Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers for competitive pricing and quality workmanship.
• Lead client presentations to propose concepts and review progress, maintaining clear and effective communication.
• Collaborate closely with MEP engineers, structural consultants, contractors, and internal design teams.
• Prepare detailed Bills of Quantities, cost estimates, material specifications, and project schedules.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, or related fields.
• Minimum 7 years of demonstrable experience in interior design projects across residential, commercial, or hospitality domains.
• Expertise in 2D drafting using AutoCAD.
• Proficiency with 3D modeling and rendering software such as SketchUp, 3ds Max, V-Ray, Corona, or Blender.
• Strong skills in visual presentation tools like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
• Competence in project management tools including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project for scheduling and BOQ preparation.
• In-depth knowledge of interior building techniques, including carpentry, joinery, finishing, and compliance with building regulations.
• Excellent aesthetic sense, attention to detail, and understanding of color theory.
• Proven leadership abilities in managing teams, junior designers, and external partners under tight deadlines.
• Outstanding communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
