Interior Designer

Role Overview

This position involves overseeing various aspects of interior fit-out projects, including elements such as civil works, carpentry, false ceilings, flooring, painting, electrical systems, plumbing, and HVAC finishing. The candidate will monitor site activities to ensure adherence to approved designs and specifications, coordinate with various stakeholders including contractors and suppliers, and ensure that quality and safety standards are upheld throughout the project duration.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise all site activities related to interior fit-out works including civil, carpentry, false ceiling, flooring, painting, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC finishes.
• Ensure that all work progresses according to approved drawings and specifications by continual monitoring of the site.
• Coordinate effectively with contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and project team members to facilitate smooth execution.
• Inspect workmanship and materials rigorously to maintain high quality standards on site.
• Ensure compliance with safety guidelines and company policies to safeguard personnel and work integrity.
• Identify and resolve site-related issues in a timely manner through coordination and problem-solving.
• Keep track of project schedules and provide regular updates on daily and weekly progress.
• Verify deliveries of construction materials and maintain accurate inventory documentation.
• Conduct site measurements and prepare detailed progress reports.
• Support final project handover by ensuring snag lists are completed and final inspections are conducted thoroughly.

Candidate Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Interior Design, Architecture, or relevant related fields.
• Relevant site supervision experience within interior fit-out or construction projects ranging from 2 to 5 years.
• Strong understanding of interior materials, finishing processes, and construction methods.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings and bills of quantities (BOQs) effectively.
• Excellent communication skills alongside ability to coordinate across teams and vendors.
• Proficiency in MS Office is required; working knowledge of AutoCAD will be considered an advantage.
