Role Overview
This position involves developing ETL and ELT data pipelines to unify diverse data sources, analyzing complex datasets, and navigating system dependencies and data lineages. The incumbent will structure both structured and unstructured data to support cloud modernization initiatives utilizing advanced cloud storage solutions such as blob storage, data lakes, and tiered storage architecture.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement data pipelines to combine heterogeneous data sources effectively.
- Analyze and document complex data workflows and system interdependencies.
- Architect cloud-based solutions managing vast amounts of structured and unstructured data.
- Conduct system analyses related to instrumentation data acquisition platforms.
- Provide training and development to team members in areas such as data analytics, governance, AI/ML, data quality, and automation.
- Convert detailed mathematical and statistical models into clear Power BI dashboards and visualizations.
- Present and defend analytical methodologies and study outcomes to senior leadership and officials.
- Lead or collaborate within data science project teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Conditions and Requirements
- Applicants must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance; background and credit checks are mandatory.
- Up to 20% travel may be required.
- Employment is contingent upon suitability or fitness determinations from background investigations.
Qualifications and Eligibility

Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience comparable to NH-02/GS-11 federal service level involving:
- Utilization of programming languages for data mapping, logical and physical data modeling, and automated pipeline deployment.
- Contributions to cloud modernization through migration of structured and unstructured databases.
- Development and presentation of automated dashboards and high-level technical analyses.
Proficiency will be evaluated in product testing and evaluation, reporting, and technical expertise.
Additional Information
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must certify Selective Service compliance.

- A one-year probationary period will assess continued employment suitability based on performance and public interest.
- Direct deposit for pay is mandatory.
- Relocation and Permanent Change of Station (PCS) allowances may be authorized as per government regulations.
- The salary for this role may not exceed $158,322 including locality adjustments.
- The role is part of the Construction, Analysis, Science, Infrastructure & Engineers (CASIE) Career Field.
