Position Overview
This role calls for an Instrument Fitter experienced in interpreting and working from various construction drawings including equipment layouts, cable tray and ladder layouts, P&IDs, general arrangement, and instrument hook-up diagrams.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret and read instrumentation and construction drawings accurately.
- Operate instrumentation tools safely such as hand benders, hydraulic and bench benders.
- Perform precise bends, offsets, and stack tubing lines up to five consecutively onto devices or racks.
- Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install primary piping and tubing including materials like stainless steel tubes, galvanized pipes, cable trays, and ladders of various sizes and lengths.
- Identify pipe and tube types and sizes in adherence to project drawings.
- Assemble and install instrument stands, control panels, junction boxes, instruments, and supporting trays or ladders.
- Handle measurement, cutting, threading, and installation of small bore piping used in pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Conduct or assist in pressure testing for installed tubing and small-bore pipes.
- Maintain a solid understanding of instrumentation specifications and standards within the oil and gas sector.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure job functions are met.
- Comply fully with all Health, Safety, Environmental, and Security (HSES) policies and information security procedures.

- Promote and maintain a safe workplace aligned with company HSES goals.
- Participate consistently in all Toolbox Talks for safety and procedural updates.
- Complete assigned tasks within set deadlines with minimal need for rework.
- Work towards reducing material wastage in line with company policies.
- Adhere strictly to company rules and procedures.
- Minimize absenteeism to maintain workflow and productivity.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum qualification: ITI or ITC in instrumentation technology.
- At least five years' experience working as an instrument fitter in construction roles, specifically in offshore project environments.
- Strong knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environment procedures relevant to the role.
- Physically capable of working under harsh climatic and maritime fabrication yard conditions.
- Effective communication skills.
- Comprehensive trade knowledge coupled with hands-on experience within maritime fabrication yards.
