Role overview
Vistas Global is seeking an Information Technology Network Specialist to support and administer a broad enterprise network and cloud environment from a remote setup based in Doha, Qatar.
Core duties
- Deploy, set up, and oversee Cisco networking equipment such as Nexus 7K switches, Cisco ACI, Cisco 3850/9300 access switches, and wireless controllers.
- Install and support Cisco IP telephony platforms to keep voice communication running smoothly.
- Administer F5 load balancers to improve traffic distribution and provide resilience.
- Configure and maintain firewall technologies including Cisco FTD, ASA, Palo Alto, and Fortinet to safeguard network assets.
- Manage VPN environments, including Cisco AnyConnect and site-to-site VPNs, to enable secure remote and inter-site connectivity.
- Handle Meraki switches and firewalls as part of the overall network stack.
- Use Cisco ISE to enforce access control policies and strengthen secure network access.
- Support Azure networking components, including Network Virtual Appliances and Virtual Networks, while accounting for regions and subscriptions for efficient resource use.
- Work on GCP networking services such as VPC, Cloud Load Balancing, Cloud Armor, and Identity-Aware Proxy to maintain a secure and reliable cloud setup.
- Provide IT infrastructure resources under a call-off agreement model.
Requirements and qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline is required.
- Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, PCNSA, AZ900, and AZ700 are desirable, though not compulsory.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco networking hardware and related software is expected.
- Strong understanding of network infrastructure and networking hardware is needed.
- Ability to analyze issues, reason through problems, and design practical solutions is important.
- Familiarity with application transport and network infrastructure protocols is required.
- Comfort working with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels, both inside and outside the organization, is necessary.
- The ideal candidate should be self-driven, capable of independent work, and also effective in a team setting.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills are essential.
- Dependability and flexibility are expected when needed.
- Experience using network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools is required.
