Overview
The Human Resources Coordinator acts as a vital support in the daily functions of the HR department, facilitating smooth and efficient HR operations. This role is tasked with diverse HR administrative responsibilities, including aiding recruitment, managing employee onboarding, overseeing data administration, and supporting employee relations. Ideal candidates are detail-focused, highly organized, and possess strong communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with recruitment activities such as posting job advertisements, resume screening, interview scheduling, and managing candidate communications
- Coordinate background verification processes
- Support onboarding by preparing welcome kits and organizing orientations
- Administer compensation, benefits, performance management, safety programs, and employee recognition initiatives
- Ensure completion of all paperwork and system access for new employees during onboarding
- Conduct orientation sessions introducing new hires to company policies, culture, and resources
- Manage offboarding including exit interviews, retrieval of company assets, and system access deactivation
- Maintain comprehensive and current employee records in HR information systems and personnel files
- Process HR documentation such as promotions, transfers, and terminations
- Maintain compliance with legal and company record-keeping standards
- Respond to employee queries about policies, benefits, and other HR-related topics
- Assist in organizing employee engagement events and activities to encourage a positive work environment
- Support employee feedback programs including surveys and analyses
- Liaise with benefit providers to address employee concerns and explain benefit options
- Maintain and disseminate benefit-related information to staff
- Help facilitate payroll operations by verifying time records and reporting irregularities
- Assist with updating payroll data related to changes such as new hires and terminations
- Collaborate with payroll personnel to ensure accurate and timely employee compensation
- Support HR compliance with regulatory requirements such as EEO, FMLA, and OSHA
- Prepare reports concerning HR metrics, turnover statistics, and compliance audits
- Manage and communicate HR policies to ensure accessibility and understanding among employees
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- 1 to 2 years of work experience in a human resources capacity
- Knowledge of HRIS platforms and fundamental HR operations
- Strong organizational abilities and keen attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Capability to manage confidential and sensitive information with discretion
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace tools
Position Information
- Hybrid working schedule: onsite presence required in Great Neck, NY on Mondays and Tuesdays
- Full-time position, working Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Annual salary range: $60,000 to $65,000
