Overview
This remote HR & Compliance Coordinator position is aimed at seasoned HR professionals passionate about establishing robust people processes and ensuring strict adherence to compliance standards. The role involves comprehensive HR operations support, guaranteeing alignment with regulatory mandates and organizational policies. Key responsibilities encompass recruitment, onboarding, training facilitation, employee engagement, and compliance supervision within a mission-driven framework. Collaboration with internal teams and external partners is crucial to develop streamlined systems supporting both staff and service excellence. This role offers growth in HR operations, compliance frameworks, and workforce coordination expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end recruitment steps, including job posting, screening candidates, facilitating interviews, conducting reference checks, and preparing employment paperwork.
- Oversee onboarding procedures ensuring all necessary documents, orientation, and training are effectively completed for new hires.
- Monitor and maintain compliance obligations like certifications, background screenings, insurance records, and workforce-related duties.
- Keep detailed compliance, training, and employee documentation up-to-date to ensure readiness for audits.
- Organize and administer internal and external training activities, including eLearning completion and professional development programs.
- Handle workforce scheduling tasks such as maintaining rosters, managing shift modifications, covering leaves, and coordinating operations.
- Perform internal audits on employee files, participant records, and organizational workflows to identify enhancements and ensure compliance.
- Facilitate employee engagement initiatives via regular check-ins, gathering feedback, recognition efforts, and maintaining team communications.
- Assist in policy revisions, compliance assessments, reporting, and documentation according to applicable industry norms.
- Partner with external trainers to enhance professional development and workforce capabilities.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum three years of professional experience in HR, compliance, or workforce coordination within disability, community services, or healthcare sectors.
- In-depth knowledge of compliance frameworks including NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Framework and Australian workplace regulations.
- Expertise in managing onboarding, training coordination, employee record-keeping, and compliance tracking.
- Familiarity with workforce awards and employment standards, notably the SCHADS Award.
- Proven track record in conducting internal audits, preparing detailed reports, and maintaining accurate records for executive review.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, fostering a collaborative and people-centric work environment.
- Strong organizational aptitude capable of juggling various priorities and meeting deadlines in a remote context.
- Comfortable utilizing HR systems, compliance software, and digital tools for workforce management.
- Highly proactive, attentive to detail, and dedicated to enhancing operational effectiveness and employee satisfaction.
