Role overview
The Housekeeping Coordinator supports the day-to-day running of housekeeping operations in a hotel environment, helping ensure rooms and public spaces are prepared efficiently and to brand standards. The role focuses on room allocation, communication across departments, guest follow-up, reporting, and administrative support.
Key responsibilities
- Arrange the ordering of guest amenities, cleaning chemicals, and other housekeeping consumables.
- Follow up with guests through courtesy calls to help maintain a strong guest experience.
- Maintain and refresh productivity reports on a regular basis.
- Keep deep-cleaning logs and other operational data sheets up to date.
- Allocate guest rooms and public areas to housekeeping attendants each day in a way that keeps workloads balanced and operations efficient.
- Coordinate closely with Housekeeping, Front Office, Engineering, Laundry, and other departments to keep hotel operations running smoothly.
- Track room status and make sure rooms are cleaned, inspected, and returned to inventory promptly.
- Handle the Lost & Found workflow by recording items accurately, storing them securely, and arranging returns in line with IHG procedures.
- Prepare daily operational housekeeping reports covering room assignments, room status, productivity, and related records.
- Respond quickly to guest requests and work with the housekeeping team to deliver excellent service.
- Anticipate guest expectations and aim to exceed them with timely, personalized, professional service.
- Follow IHG brand standards, hotel policies, and all health, safety, and security requirements.
- Keep housekeeping records, filing systems, and administrative documents accurate and organized.
- Support scheduling, attendance tracking, and other administrative duties for the department.
- Liaise with Engineering to log and track maintenance issues in rooms and public areas.
- Assist the housekeeping leadership team with daily operations, inventories, special projects, and department initiatives.
- Help maintain a positive, professional, and collaborative workplace while demonstrating IHG's Winning Ways and service culture.

Education and experience
The role requires confident spoken English, along with the ability to read and write in English. Applicants should have at least 2 years of housekeeping experience in a 4-star or 5-star hotel and be between 22 and 30 years of age.
Technical knowledge
A good working understanding of housekeeping-related systems is needed, including PMS, material ordering tools, guest experience tools, and payroll-related tools.
