Job Summary
The Housekeeping Attendant plays a pivotal role in preserving the hotel's high cleanliness standards and guest room presentation according to brand requirements. This role involves timely room servicing, appropriate usage of cleaning materials and equipment, and fostering positive guest interactions to enhance overall guest satisfaction and operational effectiveness within the housekeeping team.
Key Responsibilities
- Thoroughly clean and service guest rooms aligned with hotel standard operating procedures and quality benchmarks.
- Properly make beds; sanitize bathrooms; and clean furniture, carpets, and surfaces meticulously.
- Restock guest amenities, towels, and supplies maintaining prescribed inventory levels.
- Check room facilities such as lighting, air conditioning, television, minibar for functionality and report any defects promptly.
- Inform the Team Leader immediately of any damaged or missing items.
- Keep the cleaning trolley orderly, clean, and fully stocked at all times.
- Adhere to an efficient workflow to ensure rooms are ready promptly for guest arrivals and departures.
- Address guest requests with courtesy, professionalism, and timely responses.
- Provide additional room service support or supplementary linens and supplies as required.
- Respect guests' personal belongings and privacy consistently.
- Participate in service recovery measures to rectify any service flaws.
- Maintain a calm and positive demeanor during all interactions with guests.
- Use cleaning chemicals correctly, wear appropriate personal protective equipment, and handle tools safely.
- Follow Lost & Found protocols including proper documentation and handover procedures.
- Consistently uphold personal grooming, hygiene, and uniform standards.
- Practice waste segregation and comply with environmental sustainability guidelines.
- Observe hotel health and safety rules to minimize risks and prevent accidents.
- Provide accurate and timely room status updates such as clean, inspected, or out-of-order.
- Attend daily briefings to be informed of priorities, VIP guests, and special requests.
- Collaborate with fellow attendants and promote a positive team atmosphere.
- Engage in continuous training, including learning new cleaning methods and product use.
- Coordinate with supervisors and relevant departments to guarantee smooth operations.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by the department.
Qualifications and Experience
- High School certificate or an equivalent qualification is required.
- Vocational training related to housekeeping or cleaning is preferred.
- Experience in hotel housekeeping is advantageous though not mandatory.
- Familiarity with hotel cleanliness standards, guest room arrangements, and amenity protocols is a plus.
- Keen attention to detail with a strong commitment to hygiene and cleanliness.
- Customer-oriented mindset and positive attitude when dealing with guests.
- Capability to follow instructions and established Standard Operating Procedures.
- Physical fitness to carry out repetitive cleaning tasks efficiently.
- Effective time management skills to handle workload during busy periods.
- A proactive willingness to learn and contribute to team goals.
- Basic understanding of safe handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
