Position Overview
The Home Equity Loan Processor is responsible for managing a high volume of loan applications while ensuring adherence to production, quality, and customer service standards. This role involves meticulous review and validation of required documentation, income calculations, and timely communication with customers to ensure quality applications reach underwriting.
Key Duties
- Handle a large pipeline of loan applications efficiently while meeting service-level agreements.
- Thoroughly evaluate loan applications, verify all necessary documents, and calculate incomes accurately.
- Serve as the main point of contact for customers, providing regular status updates and returning all inquiries promptly within agreed timelines.
- Conduct inbound and outbound calls to gather necessary documents and update customers on loan progress.
- Monitor and respond to emails and voicemails timely, documenting all interactions.
- Focus on customer satisfaction by building rapport, setting realistic expectations, and following through on commitments.
- Clearly communicate complex information with empathy to maintain customer retention and partner confidence.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Must hold a valid State NMLS license, including passing the Uniform State Test and additional licensure as required.
- At least 2 years of experience in mortgage processing and 2 years of customer-facing roles.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multitasking environment and perform as a proactive, self-driven team member.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management capabilities.
- Effective written and verbal professional communication skills.
- Flexible work schedule including ability to work evenings, weekends, and overtime, typically between 8 am - 5 pm PST or 10 am - 7 pm EST.
- Remote work permitted within 100 miles of a local company office.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary ranges depend on location and experience, with hourly payments generally between $19.66 and $48.13 across various states. The position includes comprehensive benefits such as medical, dental, vision, life insurance, long-term disability, 401(k) plan, paid holidays and paid time off.
