The position involves collaboration on interface engines, interoperability, and managing diverse health data flows.

Primary Duties

  • Develop, document, and uphold internal procedures and standards related to Epic applications and their integrations.
  • Take on a dual role providing both hands-on technical solutions and team leadership, including daily support activities.

  • Convert user and business needs into detailed technical designs and integration specifications.
  • Lead and assist in Epic EMR deployment projects, covering interface creation, data conversion, upgrade processes, and post-launch support.
  • Evaluate, apply, and verify new system features during upgrades and special releases.
  • Provide technical mentorship, guidance, and training to integration team members; contribute to hiring, onboarding, and skill enhancement.
  • Collaborate with management in resource allocation, on-call arrangements, workload distribution, and career development strategies.
  • Act as an advisor for integration strategies, architectural choices, HL7 standards, and vendor communications, facilitating alignment between end-users and technology teams.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Certification in Epic Bridges application.
  • Proven expertise with HL7 standards, including HL7 v2, HL7 FHIR, and HL7 CDA, as well as Web Services.
  • Experience building interfaces using integration engines like InterSystems, Rhapsody, Cloverleaf, Mirth Connect, Microsoft BizTalk, Corepoint, Qvera, IBM Integration Bus, or WebSphere Message Broker.
  • Familiarity with Epic or similar clinical Electronic Medical Record systems.
  • Knowledge of software testing methodologies, including unit and integration testing.
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers and serving as a subject matter expert.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools like Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Ability to work independently, adapt flexibly, and participate in 24/7 on-call rotations.

Preferred Credentials

  • Additional certifications in interoperability or integration platforms such as InterSystems Ensemble, Rhapsody, Cloverleaf, Mirth Connect, or Microsoft BizTalk.
  • Programming skills in languages such as C++, C#, JavaScript, VBScript, ASP.Net, or equivalent.
  • Experience with SQL databases including MSSQL and Oracle.
