HGV Technician

About the Role

The Mick George Group is seeking a skilled HGV Technician to become part of their team based in Ellington – Woodhatch Farm, Thrapston Road, Brampton, PE28 4NJ. This position involves working with the company's fleet of heavy goods vehicles, performing inspections, maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs to ensure optimum performance and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough fault detection and inspections on HGVs to identify required repairs or maintenance.
• Perform servicing, maintenance, and repairs to a high standard consistent with manufacturer guidelines and MOT preparation.
• Collaborate with the Commercial Workshop Manager to effectively manage parts ordering and timely delivery.
• Organize workload efficiently, maintaining a safe and well-kept work environment and ensuring equipment longevity.
• Complete and maintain accurate records and documentation for all maintenance and repair work undertaken.

Candidate Requirements

• Relevant Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Service & Maintenance.
• Valid full UK driving licence.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with proven experience working across a diverse HGV fleet.
• Proficient in effective fault diagnosis and repair execution.
• Ability to service vehicles in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and main dealer standards.
• Competent using electrical diagnostic tools for fault finding.
• Excellent communication abilities for liaising with team members and management.
