Role Overview
We are recruiting a Heavy Diesel Fitter to maintain and repair underground mobile mining equipment. This role involves fault diagnosis, preventive and breakdown maintenance, and collaboration on maintenance planning to ensure operational efficiency and minimal downtime.
Work Environment and Rosters
- Permanent, full-time employment with competitive salary and benefits.
- Various roster options tailored to lifestyle preferences, including 8:6, 8:6-7:7, 14:7, and 14:14 schedules.
- Flights in on nights and out on days to support FIFO operations.
- Multiple work location options such as FIFO, DIDO, or residential positions across Kambalda, Kalgoorlie, Meekatharra, and Cue.
- Modern camps with ensuite rooms, sports facilities, and fully equipped gyms.
- Fortnightly salary payments.
Key Responsibilities
- Service and maintain underground mobile equipment efficiently.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment to reduce operational disruptions.
- Adhere to maintenance schedules to minimize equipment downtime.
- Participate in maintenance planning activities and coordinate with contractors and stakeholders as necessary.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Valid Western Australia C-Class manual driver’s license.
- Relevant trade qualifications, certifications, and licenses for heavy diesel fitting.
- Experience working underground, especially on Load Haul equipment.
- Familiarity with Sandvik, CAT, Epiroc, and Volvo underground equipment such as loaders, jumbos, long-hole drills, and charge-up units.
- Desired experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) like Pronto.
- Knowledge of diagnostic software such as CAT ET or SIS is advantageous.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and troubleshooting skills.
- Good computer proficiency including Microsoft Office applications.
- Effective communication and a proactive safety-focused approach.
