Healthcare Data Analyst

About the Role

BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee is seeking a Healthcare Data Analyst to join the Provider Analytics team. This remote full-time position involves collaborating with Information Delivery team members to provide comprehensive analysis supporting business decisions regarding healthcare cost and quality enhancements. The role includes contributing to prominent reporting projects, including those directed at providers and clients, and working with various teams across the organization to present insights from healthcare data effectively. Key responsibilities include supporting Medicare Advantage quality and cost initiatives alongside clinical data exchange activities across multiple business lines.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships within the organization to advance departmental and corporate objectives.
• Coordinate and execute multiple analytics projects accurately and punctually under guidance.
• Develop domain expertise in healthcare analytics and tailor communication to suit diverse business audiences.
• Create metrics, conduct research studies, and generate reports based on established business rules and objectives.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience, or a Master’s degree without work experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in analytics, reporting, and data analysis using conventional industry tools.
• Proficiency with data analysis software such as Google BigQuery, Python, or SAS.
• Experience managing provider-related programs or analyzing healthcare insurance data.
• Skilled in data visualization tools, particularly Tableau.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent written and verbal communication capabilities.
• Effective organizational skills and ability to handle multiple concurrent projects.
• Solid analytical abilities with understanding of basic statistics and algebra.

Additional Information and Conditions

• This role operates aligned with Eastern Time business hours (8:00 AM to 5:00 PM).
• The position is fully remote; however, the final interview round requires attendance at the Chattanooga, Tennessee headquarters.
