Healthcare Assistant

Job Overview

The Healthcare Assistant will perform duties under the guidance and supervision of the sister or staff nurse. This role includes preparing for, assisting during, and tidying up after various clinics, occasionally working independently. As a member of the Outpatients team, the post holder will contribute directly to patient care with flexibility required to accommodate clinic schedules. Training and competency assessments will be provided to uphold high standards within the clinic.

Primary Responsibilities

• Actively deliver planned nursing care as directed by the Registered Nurse, applying a broad range of clinical skills.
• Offer comfort and support to patients as well as their families or carers.
• Engage patients and their carers/relatives in the care process.
• Provide chaperone services to patients when necessary.
• Collaborate effectively with department colleagues to ensure patients' requirements are met.
• Continuously develop personal skills and knowledge, contributing to the growth of peers.

Additional Information

Certificates of Sponsorship are currently prioritized for registered roles, so this post is unlikely to receive CoS allocation at present.

The successful candidate will bear the cost of the initial DBS check, which will be deducted from the first salary payment.
