Role Overview
The Health Safety Environment Engineer position is a full-time on-site role located in Dubai, UAE. Responsible for crafting, implementing, and overseeing HSE policies and standards, the role ensures adherence to regional laws, international best practices, and internal CPECC requirements. Key responsibilities include conducting risk assessments, safety audits, incident investigations, and site inspections. The role demands preparation of HSE reports and suggestions aimed at ongoing safety improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with project and site teams to identify hazards and deploy effective control measures.
- Foster and maintain a robust safety culture across all operations.
- Provide HSE training sessions, including toolbox talks and awareness programs for site personnel.
- Support emergency preparedness and response strategies.
- Liaise with regulatory agencies and external stakeholders as necessary.
Qualifications and Expertise
- Extensive knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards in engineering or construction contexts.
- Understanding of Occupational Health practices including hazard identification, exposure mitigation, and worker health safeguards.
- Competence in safety engineering procedures such as risk evaluations and safety design reviews.
- Experience developing and delivering HSE training to varied site teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related fields; professional certifications like NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent are desirable.
- Familiarity with global HSE standards like ISO 45001, ISO 14001, OSHA, and compliance with UAE-specific regulations.
- Demonstrated background within oil and gas, petrochemical industries, or large-scale industrial construction projects, preferably EPC or multidisciplinary ventures.
- Strong analytical, reporting, problem-solving capabilities paired with excellent communication and teamwork skills.
