Stellenbeschreibung
About the Organization
Hero is a major provider in Scandinavia for accommodation and care services, interpreting, and qualification support for recognized refugees, beneficiaries of subsidiary protection, and asylum seekers. Since 2017, the organization has also been active in Germany through Hero Zukunft GmbH and Hero Services gGmbH. Guided by the idea of making a new future possible, Hero supports residents across currently 13 facilities with the many challenges of integration, while actively encouraging personal responsibility and independence.
The team provides social work and day-to-day support, helps coordinate medical needs, advises on training and entry into the labor market, and also promotes community engagement and neighborhood networking.
Hero is now expanding into Schleswig-Holstein and is looking for several full-time or part-time maintenance technicians (m/f/d) for the state accommodation facility in Boostedt, available immediately.
Role Overview
In this position, you will help ensure the safety, order, and proper condition of the accommodation by carrying out regular inspections and monitoring compliance with internal rules and safety standards.
Key Tasks
- Carry out a weekly safety inspection of residents’ rooms.
- Check common areas, corridors, and sanitary facilities for damage or potential hazards.
- Make sure the house rules, security framework, emergency and standby plan, and all relevant legal regulations are followed.
Candidate Profile
The role suits applicants with a relevant vocational qualification and/or prior practical experience. Experience in working with refugees is welcome but not mandatory. Very strong German language skills are required, and knowledge of additional languages is an advantage.
Hero is looking for someone who can handle conflict well, works with cultural sensitivity, is well organized, and takes responsibility seriously. You should be able to work independently while remaining a team player, and you should bring resilience, commitment, initiative, and motivation to the role.
Benefits
- Meaningful work in a professional setting.
- Supervision and training opportunities tailored to individual interests and needs.
- A dynamic, multicultural team.
- Flat organizational structures.
- Company-supported continuing education.
- Extra vacation days.
- Opportunity to help shape the use of monthly team budgets.
- Industry-standard pay and opportunities for professional growth.
- Professional and peer exchange within the Hero network.
