Key Responsibilities

• Performing small to medium maintenance and repair tasks for residential and commercial clients, with projects lasting roughly two hours to two days
• Discussing work requirements and managing client expectations concerning job scope and costs
• Providing excellent customer service to cultivate long-term client relationships, following the standardized "Mr. Handyman Way" process to ensure consistent quality
• Self-managing daily activities while often working independently
• Engaging with customers professionally, soliciting payment and reviews
• Utilizing necessary tools and technology for job documentation and completion
• Adhering to safety protocols including the use of personal protective equipment and protective booties inside customers' homes

Minimum Qualifications

• Residency within the local area
• A minimum of eight years of paid handyman work experience
• Ownership of personal handyman tools
• Eligibility and insurance coverage to drive company vehicles
• Successful completion of background and driving record assessments
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance
• Capability to work safely at heights and overhead for sustained periods
• Professional demeanor and proper upkeep of company-provided vehicle

Technical Skills

Applicants should demonstrate proficiency in at least three of the following trades:

• Carpentry
• Bathroom renovations
• Kitchen remodeling
• Interior and exterior painting
• Minor and major drywall repair
• Basic plumbing and electrical work following legal guidelines
• Floor installation and restoration
• Knowledge of local building codes

Additional Information

This position is with a franchise owner of Mr. Handyman, who operates independently and manages their own wages and benefits separate from Mr. Handyman corporate entities. If hired, the franchise owner will be your sole employer. This job description outlines the broad scope of expected duties.
