Role Summary

This position is for a Hadoop Administrator working on enterprise big data and analytics infrastructure. The role centers on cluster administration, performance tuning, security controls, and operational support for critical banking data platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, tune, and support Apache Spark clusters.
• Track cluster health, investigate issues, and resolve Spark job failures or performance bottlenecks.
• Run and maintain Linux servers, including automation of routine tasks through Bash and Python scripts.
• Administer Starburst/Trino environments, including cluster configuration and connector management.
• Implement and uphold platform security, user access controls, and compliance requirements aligned with banking standards.
• Partner with data engineering and analytics teams to improve query and pipeline performance.
• Keep essential banking data pipelines available and resilient with high uptime.

Required Skills and Experience

• At least 8 years of experience in Spark administration and large-scale big data environments.
• Strong background in Linux administration, preferably on RHEL.
• Practical, hands-on experience with Starburst and Trino.
• Working knowledge of Hadoop ecosystem components such as HDFS, Hive, and Ranger.
• Ability to write and maintain scripts in Bash and Python.
• Good understanding of authentication, networking, and security concepts.

Preferred Experience

• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with banking data processes, governance, and workflow controls.
